Sales Coverage:
(influencing
a producer to purchase your screenplay)
The following is a coverage written for a production company for the express
purpose of convincing another party to invest in the project.
Therefore, only the strengths and high points of the script are mentioned.
This is different than the other coverage example found on this site
because it is intentionally biased in order to “sell,” and the type of one
that you can use in order to have an arsenal of reasons for why somebody should
buy your screenplay.
*Note: It’s
especially helpful to have such a “magic bag of tricks” when you walk into a
pitch meeting and you usually have only so many minutes to get your story and
its value across to a producer.
